Kiwami means "doing something extremely", or "learning all about one thing", or "the best degree" in Japanese. Kanetsune's Kiwami knives have the 15 layers super blue steel damascus blades made by Hitachi metals in Japan, a type of ultra-high carbon steel. Super Blue Steel is the highest grade steel in Hitachi's high carbon steel products that contains a high percentage of carbon, chrome to increase hardness, improving edge retention and resistance to corrosion. Blue steel, has been used for creating Japanese hunting knives from ancient times and has long lasting sharpness. The blades are finished in a manner that provides a highly distinctive look.
